Something New from the Nimitz

The National Museum of the Pacific war is dedicated to telling the story of the Pacific and CBI (China Burma India) Theaters of World War II. As you probably know, on December 7th of 2009 we re-opened the newly renovated George H. W. Bush Gallery. If you haven’t seen it yet, you should make your way to the beautiful Texas Hill Country and spend a couple days at the new place; it’s really great!

We’ve decided to start a twice weekly blog that will keep our readers aware of what’s going on at the museum as well as give you some stories from our collections that you probably don’t know. Check us out every Tuesday and Thursday for something new!

If you’re in the area, next Wednesday would be Admiral Nimitz’ 125th birthday! At 1:30, we’ll have a performance from the Fredericksburg Middle School Choir followed by birthday cake, and we’ll show films about Admiral Nimitz throughout the day. Events will be held in the historic Nimitz Ballroom and are free of charge. If you share his birthday, you get FREE museum admission!
